Oh please sue! Discovery! This is why it will never get to that point. Also I hope he keeps complaining about it so everyone knows to watch it!

He is constantly threatening legal action against everyone who criticizes him but never follows up. It just a fact that he heavily spent and otherwise intervened during 2024 election including just outright attempting to pay for votes, so I’m not sure what he is trying to prove here.

[Elon Musk’s](https://people.com/tag/elon-musk/) attorney is threatening legal action over a new documentary about the trillionaire, alleging that the film falsely suggests Musk manipulated the [2024 presidential election](https://people.com/donald-trump-storms-out-of-meet-the-press-interview-11992844).

Attorney [Alex Spiro](https://people.com/jay-z-lawyer-reveals-why-rapper-decided-to-sue-former-accuser-and-her-attorneys-11695328) sent director Alex Gibney a letter ahead of the documentary’s release, PEOPLE has learned.

In the letter, Spiro says Musk’s legal team repeatedly attempted to contact Gibney and requested an opportunity to respond to the film’s reporting, but alleges that the filmmakers “have refused to engage.”

Spiro also accuses the filmmakers of allegedly approaching the project with a predetermined conclusion about Musk.

“This project did not begin as an inquiry,” Spiro wrote. “It began with a conclusion.”

In response, a spokesperson for the production company behind the film, Jigsaw, defended Gibney’s work.

“Alex Gibney’s films are consistently recognized for their in-depth, fact-driven explorations of influential figures and corporations, coupled with his bold and engaging directorial stylee,” the spokesperson said.

Spiro’s letter comes as [*Musk*](https://people.com/elon-musk-documentary-lost-his-mind-trailer-12110616), Gibney’s nearly four-hour documentary about the [trillionaire](https://people.com/elon-musk-is-officially-a-trillionaire-as-spacex-goes-public-11996016) entrepreneur, premiered at the [Venice Film Festival](https://people.com/venice-film-festival/) on Sept. 8. The film is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on Friday, Oct. 16.

It features [Ashley St. Clair](https://people.com/all-about-ashley-st-clair-elon-musk-11978367), Musk’s former partner and a former conservative influencer who has since become a critic of the trillionaire. The two [share a son](https://people.com/all-about-elon-musk-children-11678749) and have been involved in a [custody dispute](https://people.com/elon-musk-says-he-s-going-to-file-for-full-custody-of-son-with-ashley-st-clair-11883638).

In the [documentary](https://people.com/elon-musk-ex-ashley-st-clair-turned-down-alleged-40m-nda-participate-new-documentary-12111132), St. Clair discusses Musk’s reaction to the November 2024 election, saying he appeared to have a “degree of certainty” that Donald Trump would win that “I had never seen before.”

She recalls Musk allegedly telling her before the election that he was going to “unleash the anomaly in the matrix,” followed by a text from Musk that appears on the screen and reads, “I have ten thousand lasers in space.”

Gibney then asks St. Clair whether she believed Musk was referring to Starlink. “I mean, I don’t know where else he has space lasers,” she responds in the film.

Elon literally claimed he won the election for Trump. I forget if that was before or after he said Trump was in the Epstein files.

    8. MysteryHeroes on

Does legal action = Elon is telling the truth.

Threatens legal action = Documentary is yelling the truth.

If they were lying that would be an easy defamation case. Why threaten? Just do the lawsuit.

Also I know I typed a Y instead of a T but Im keeping it because I thought it was funny.

    9. _Home_Skillet_ on

Oh please tell me he’s stupid enough to Streisand Effect this thing.

    10. KeithRichardsGrandma on

Bro he literally admitted to it when he and Trump were having their little public feud lmao

    11. astroglitch0 on

He and the diddler have causually bragged about it publicly almost two dozen times if not more by now. Anyone remember when he was at the white house with his human shield on his lap who couldn’t stop evil giggling and repeating „no one will ever know!“….where do ya think the kid picked that up from?

    12. RacistJudicata on

I do complex tort and mass tort litigation. I don’t miss shit in discovery, and neither would any attorney defending any bullshit suit this fucking pinecone brought.

    13. OldButStillFat on

I saw a clip of him admitting it, he said it was easy. Regarding the Pennsylvania polls.

    14. Musk is gonna pull a taco and drop the lawsuit when it hits discovery and then he’s going to complain about being treated unfairly by the courts. Conservative grift playbook, page 3.

    15. Imaginary_Unit5109 on

He is currently manipulating the current midterm election. He made a website that is design to collect voters information while tricking them into thinking they register to vote. He made a fake voting register site that collect the person info and not register them at the same time.

    16. aldoraine000 on

Dude literally tweeted to Trump that he would not have won 2024 if it wasn’t for him. Now he’s trying to backtrack? Yeah, he knows people are pissed off and is trying to cover his ass.

    17. ArtificialBra1n on

To me, this is pretty much a confirmation that he messed with the election. These fascist losers always come out to say they’ll sue but then nothing happens because they would be destroyed by discovery.

    18. mediocretes on

Trump literally bragged about how good of a job he did manipulating the election.

    19. Swimming-Employer97 on

Well considering the number of lawsuits against him for offering money to voters in 2024 and 2025, I would say they he should absolutely try to sue and see what happens.
