How do i find how the data source producers got their data? It says world bank but im having a hard time finding it on world bank’s site
As an American, it’s really fascinating to me how *incredibly* wealthy the US is vs the rest of the world. Yes, we have a lot of income disparity. No, that doesn’t make our middle class „poor“ by international standards – our middle class is still *really* rich. It really struck me when I went to Japan, and yeah – the cities were great and certainly wealthy, but the rural areas made me think I was driving through Mississippi, or West Virginia. Our poorest states have GDP per capita higher than almost any country in the world.
Seems like a rather meaningless data point to derive much from besides historical trends considering, for instance, China has 95% home ownership, with the ability for a billion people to hop on cheap high speed rail or cheap EV and travel across the country while me in the US making 6 figures would struggle to buy a home in today’s market in most major cities, travel costs keep ballooning, and a new car with most of the same features would run 100k or more.
