Like a fish on a hook. When ROTUS says x wants to make a deal, you know two things. X doesn’t want to make a deal. ROTUS is desperate to make a deal.
Trump also said he wasn’t friends with Epstein, that he’d build a giant wall which Mexico would pay for, and that he’d end the Russia-Ukraine war on his first day in office.
If Trump said water is wet I’d still turn on the faucet to confirm.
In any event, I think the allegation in the title can be added to the pile.
Fuuuuuuuck. Reducing environmental checks stress me the fuck out. Especially when „industry stakeholders“ are excited about it. I get that bureaucracy sucks, and I have my own complaints with a lot, but we need environmental protections and harsh penalties when those protections aren’t implemented.
Notice how Canadian Liberal politicians don’t talk about the deal unless asked.
Notice how American Republican politicians keep talking about it without being prompted.
They are hyper focused on a „deal“ because they need Canada to capitulate to them, while they don’t want additional pain.
Canada is focused on diversifying away from the US and as such don’t need to harp on it.
