This might be a stupid question, but I have always wondered.
With launches like this, smaller rockets and less time up in the sky, will that rocket on a parachute come straight back down? Are we talking +/- 5,15,25 miles away? I can’t imagine it traveling too far from the launch site, but I’m also not am engineer, so I don’t know! Thanks for the help in advance.

it seems this rocket is about 5 meters long, about 150 kg with fuel, and the engine has a thrust of about 1.6 tons of force.
They have not updated the page to include this rocket, but the team has spectacularly detailed documents describing their earlier hardware: [https://www.waterloorocketry.com/documentation](https://www.waterloorocketry.com/documentation)
These rockets are similar but a step above the amateur rockets which Tom Mueller built at home before starting SpaceX. Of course the university program has much more time and budget, which makes their hardware much more carefully designed and documented. This is a really good way to get practical experience leading to even bigger projects.
