He changed his ways a couple of weeks ago; let’s see him prove he has really changed before it’s used as a mitigating factor for his dangerous crime.

Sure it did… Let him prove it and if it turns out to be true he can be let out early for good behaviour.

Fuck him, trial him as an adult, make a complete example of him with a hefty sentence. This is what’s needed here.

I know it’s their job but the defence council can’t go home thinking they’ve done a great days work by trying to get this little cunt a softer sentence than he deserves

So he’s changed his ways conveniently a few weeks before his trial? Seems a bit cynical. Why not when he was arrested?

I firmly believe that anyone who has „changed their ways“ as a response to being found guilty of something is absolutely full of shit. People can obviously change, eventuall. But not this quickly. This lad hasn’t changed, he’s looking for sympathy and if the people in charge had any integrity whatsoever, they would use this clear cut, blatantly obvious opportunity to send a message to other people not to behave like this and put him behind bars.
But they won’t. They never will and there will be another group of people dead eventually.

Poor „troubled“ mite!
I expect those he might hit would be fairly troubled too though.
Maybe he needs a lot of time out of the way to work out how people can be „less troubled“?

Of course he has and of course he has an ADHD diagnosis. The poor happier.

Cool cool.
Lock him the fuck up and bar him from driving for life. He and everyone like him (who survives) must become a cautionary tale for all the other little scrotes.

I can’t belive they let it go to Childrens Court and not the Circuit Court. Have we learned nothing? For fuck sake.

So what. He did it & knew the risks. He could just as easily have wiped out innocent people. Actions like these need to have consequences, changing your ways is not a free pass for crimes already committed.

How gullible the judges and the audience can be?
When is Ireland going to do something about these mental wrecks and their parents?

I say make him do community service for years if he’s that regretful and no room in oberstown. I think hard labour is the only way to break these little shits
