He is losing the war in Ukraine but he is playing the longest game against European and American governments.
He has divided them and eroded consensus. The rise of AfD is another notch on a gate that includes Trump, Brexit, LePen and others.
He is in a race against time but he’s winning the media and influence war
In 23/24 he could have claimed victory by his own definition and walked away. Most Russians would have been happy enough to walk away and accept the lie.
Since then Russia has gained almost no new territory, their economy is getting closer to the edge, the war has been taken to them – it’s not going good by any standards and it’s harder to pull out now without looking like a defeat.
It’s so sad he’s in such an untenable position. Poor guy. I guess at times like this it’s worth asking: how did he get into such a predicament? How did he get into this situation in the first place? Who set the chain of events in motion?
Whoever that person is, whoever it is who put Putin into this sad, strategic strategy…. that’s the person to blame.
Putin should shoot that person in the head.
This is the equivalent of a chess player who is losing the game, but instead of resigning he lets the clock run out.
