I remember being told 8 years ago that the US should have made changes to the power grid a very long time ago and that Russia was able to hack in to taunt the US. Makes the whole thing with the CIA director going to Russia seem more important.

Well the issue is he picked a fight with Canada and they supply energy to some areas

How many times has he won the war or secured the straight. I call stinky diaper on this one

It’s an emergency because the billionaires want those data centers up. Why they want to do that? Idk if it was for the people he would ignore it. But his billionaire friends want it so it’s going to be an emergency

How long before generating your own power becomes „a threat to national security“?

    6. Just waiting for the US military to actually fulfill its oath to defend the United States constitution. Anybody? Bueller?

My grandfather used to subscribe to the Spotlight newsletter in the 90’s and I remember hearing a prediction revolving around a future president declaring a national emergency to basically overthrow the constitution and implement a new-world-order totalitarian government. Trump openly and unapologetically wants to do that. A lot of their predictions have long since come true, it’s looking like we’ll get to see that one come to fruition before long.

Where are those “nothing ever happens” posters now?

They were chomping at the bit in 2024 to tell us all absolutely nothing would happen if Trump got elected.

Probably has more to do with the deflock movement than any foreign stuff.

He did this his first term too. Just a way to limit malicious foreign parts on the grid without congressional approval.

Power grid is going to go bye bye when all of those ballots get cast in November

Trump should have USA write a check to quantumscape and bring their batteries

    13. Do you think they’ll add guns to flock cams to secure them? For national protection?

    14. Trump just wants to use „emergency powers“ to fast track new nuclear power plants. Nukes take 10 years of planning and environmental studies before the construction even starts. Clear away all that regulation and the construction can begin immediately.

    15. So many people here have no idea what this actually means and are trying to find ways to plug their most basic political talking points. Classic reddit

    16. US was one of those countries that banned wind energy and even solar panels for solar energy..its like they want people to not have „power“ and completely rely on the govt, i get why a few towns and rural areas in US are „off the grid“ but alas, majority of the US are yet to catch on

    17. Come On Guys!! This is r/conspiracy, what do we think is ‚really‘ going on? My money is on the gvt. setting up a protocol to handle an inevitable rogue AI by cutting off all power, primitive a method as it is. Whats all your guesses? edit. just read about the Canada power situation.

Probably a good time for people to learn where the ruling class built their bunkers. They might come handy, just saying.

I honestly feel like this is more to shut down our ability to communicate with each other.

I live on the Gulf Coast and 80 percent of us would die without air conditioning. Temps here reach over 100 degrees for 90 straight days during the summer.

    21. Then does this create civil unrest, he declares Marshall law and the mid terms get canceled…?

    22. TheSavage1973 on

Whitehouse.gov just mentions it’s equipment and foreign affairs with said equipment. It really talked more about the software side of thing and taking precautions against cyber attacks. This post seems misleading af.

    23. we have no data centers in our area and for the last 3 days our likes have been flickering and going off for a split sec

    24. PersiusAlloy on

The absolute chaos and deaths of the power goes out for that fucking long would be astronomical.

    25. These next 2 months are going to be insane up until election day. Expect a lot of fear mongering.

    26. Enough-Silver-915 on

Well that explains all the underground bunkers that the mega rich have build as of late.

    27. CaptainFartyAss on

This is *way* too important for this dipship to be any where near, he is going to fuck this up spectacularly. What I’m saying, is fuck every single other president before him who just left this sitting unresolved on that desk.

    28. As someone who follows cybersecurity, you’d get sick if you saw how much infrastructure was exposed to the open internet with little or no authentication, including right here in the US. And a LOT of it is because some yahoo „computer guy“ just smart enough to impress people who don’t know any better, or some company that doesn’t care as long as they get paid, installed a VNC server with either no password, or one that’s easily guessed (such as password or admin), and then exposed it directly to the internet over their Verizon hotspot or something so they could manage and monitor their facility remotely. There’s a correct, secure way to accomplish that same goal, but a whole lot of them seem to opt for the easiest, and worst solution.

And the sad thing is, in the case of VNC, no operating system I know of ships with it pre-installed, which means this isn’t an accident. Somebody chose to install it, expose it directly to the internet and not even set a decent password.

Check out this account on Mastodon that catalogs them: https://fedi.computernewb.com/@vncresolver
