Hallo. Ich hoffe, dass hier jemand so freundlich ist, den Text auf der Rückseite dieses Fotos zu übersetzen. Ich glaube, es gehörte meiner Großmutter. Danke schön!
„So my dear Juliška (Julie) and everyone, I wish you a Merry Christmas celebration and a Happy, blissful New Year
I wish you, my children, that God would give you in the New Year lots of health and happiness
May your enemies not win over you“
(The word „children“ is phonetically misspelled to reflect Hungarian-type of grammar. Actually, there is a lot of misspellings, but it’s possible that this is reflecting some dialect)
* * *
On the left side of the postcard it’s very hard to decipher the handwriting, but the first sentence is something like „This is my house…“ Then, maybe something about a fence (?) and how it’s twenty steps (??) from the gate or something like that, and that it’s the most beautiful house in the whole village.
Edit: it’s signed „I, your mother“
OneScheduler on
Very nice memory, you are lucky
