TL;DR Andreessen Horowitz, the top venture capital firm in Silicon Valley, has invested billions into explicitly amoral startups such as:
– Doublespeed, a startup aiming to „replace human creators with AI“, by selling access to „phone farms“ that get around social media platforms‘ anti-fraud algorithms, allowing companies to buy bots that game engagement metrics
– Cluely, the startup that wants you to „cheat at everything“, whose founder wants you to use „undetectable“ AI to cheat on exams, homework, job interviews, dates, and more
– Coverd, which is pursuing a novel form of gambling that allows users to bet on their bills
– AI companionship startups like CharacterAI, Civitai, and Ex-Human, with a [June 2023 a16z blog post](https://a16z.com/its-not-a-computer-its-a-companion/) quoting a user hoping that „One day [AI] will be better than a real [girlfriend.“
The firm has also invested eye-popping amounts of money into deregulation, including launching the $100 million super-PAC [Leading the Future](https://fortune.com/2025/08/26/openai-president-greg-brockman-andreessen-horowitz-super-pac-ai-pro-innovation/) in August 2025 which runs attack ads against politicians who support AI regulation.

I knew Andreessen had a messed up world view but didn’t think he’d be this dystopian.

Well….there’s no putting this cat back in the bag. It is a run away train and there’s no getting off….for anyone now.
Blaming this imbecile on societal ills is akin to blaming a dealer for gambling / drug addiction. Nobody is holding a gun to your head – you’re free to ignore YES that is a choice.
Having lived through the online poker crackdown of the early 2000s it’s amazing how much gbling is legalized in america now.
We need to load up these losers into a rocket and send it into the sun.
It’s important to have a moral base regardless but when actions influence millions it’s paramount. Our system doesn’t penalize that misalignment directly so sharing information like this is essential. Thanks OP.
