Ich habe das gesehen und dann wurde mir klar, dass jeder Finne, den ich kenne und der in Norwegen war, in den nördlichen Teilen Norwegens (und insbesondere auf den Lofoten) war. Darf ich fragen, warum? Ist es vor den Bergen? Ich bin hier wirklich neugierig

Easy to get to and mountains which we dont have here
It’s our neighbouring country so it’s easy to just drive there.
Well as far as I know, a lot of us (at least a lot of people I know) dream about seeing the Fjords and the mountains, me included. It’s something that we definitely don’t have here.
Finland is basically an island (or part of it), and Lofoten is one of the coasts of that island. And yes, montains. Combined with the Ocean. And fjords. It is beautiful.
as a norwegian living in finland i have noticed this too! and i have asked why, and they all say they drove there beacuse it was easier!:)
Of course it’s a cool place to visit for a tourist, but we go there because it borders us and we can drive there.
Oslo, or any southern part of your country? I’m sure it’s cool too, but we’d have to board a flight (or roadtrip through your whole country lol, round trip) and at that point we could go anywhere, so Oslo suddenly competes with London, Berlin and all the other places in the world
Trips to north of Norway are more conveniently doable with a car, and it’s a shorter trip (i.e. you need to cross less of Sweden, which is mostly as boring as roads in Finland). You get to see more if you’re able to get around on your own vehicle, not bound to transportation schedules, and it’s probably also cheaper.
I went even further and bought my summer cottage from Northern Norway! As to your question, the area roughly between Narvik and Kirkenes is the most accessible area for Finns by car. I think the middle of Norway is also spectacular (I’m less familiar with the south), but it’s quite the drive.
I’ve only visited Norway twice, once to Oslo and its surroundings and once to Stavanger.
I guess the north has nice landscapes which attract many tourists.
Beatiful nature, mountains, easy access especially if you don’t want to fly. And let’s face it, Norwegian cities aren’t very interesting and they are very expensive, so for a city holiday, almost any other major city in Europe is more exciting and more affordable.

Because only way to go to Sweden without ferry is Haparanda. From Haparanda, Narvik is 500km. Oslo is 1300km.
Close enough, safe, similar mindset.
Driwing from Finland to Norway is easy and fast… driving in Norway is not fast. So you tend to end up going to the North mainly.
Or that’s my experience anyways.

Easy access and it just is a trend and hype right at the moment. Everyone seems to go there if they go to Norway, and I feel they go just because they want to say „hey we went there also last summer“ or something like that when someone mentions, yet again, that they are going to Lofoten.
Social media plays huge part in this.
