Ha! Ok this makes more sense to me now. At first I was like there is 0 chance that ginger ale is that popular. But seeing as the methodology is based on Instacart orders I bet it’s people getting ginger ale for when they’re sick which probably accounts for the only time many people use grocery delivery services!

You mean that coke is not disproportionately popular in many states, probably because it’s so popular everywhere. A map showing the top-selling drink, instead of what this is, would probably have a lot more Coke.

Kind of a useless map when you add the caveat “most popular soda purchased on Instacart”. I live in New York City – it takes a certain level of financial security to be ordering with Instacart. Ginger ale is not nearly the “most popular” soda in bodegas, or restaurants, or supermarkets…
