Cool. If Oregon is part of British Canada, why is it blue? And why are British and Mexican territories the same color?
The US would still have settled the area. If anything we would likely texas style republics that are slowly incorporated.
And to think, if this would have happened, none of us would have been born.
Love that u named Galveston “Lafitte”
Considering Missouri had an extermination order vs Mormons until 1976, this would be their worst nightmare.
Would have taken the Missouri River drainage by conquest by 1840 if Napoleon hadn’t sold it.
Very nice, I would used Tennessee’s original proposed name of Franklin.
I recently played a similar alternate history game with ChatGPT about this. Turns out France having an independent oil supply significantly changes its prospects during/after WWI & may put it in a position to nip Hitler in the bud before they join up with Italy.
Why is Ogden in such a weird spot? There is nothing there. It looks like it is where Elko is in real life, but that town only exists because of the railroad which wouldn’t be put there if there is no Louisiana Purchase
Missouri Confederation goes harddddd
Very cool, though I’m curious as to why the northern part of Maine would’ve been lost to Canada? I feel like if the United States had no more land to expand, I think would almost press that area even harder, especially considering United States was trying to get even more territory out of it.
And when Maine became a state in 1820, it really pressed the issue hard and I don’t think it would’ve backed down because the people in Maine were pretty aggressive about staking their claim. So if Maine is an independent state, there’s no way they wouldn’t have push this issue to at least get somewhere similar to where it ended up. At least in my mind.
Milwaukee is Juneau?
What’s the District of St. Louis?
It’s fun but realistically America just takes it.
So… where did the Mormons ended up? Do they occupy a specific area or are they just spread out in the USA.
Did the civil war still happen?
California still likely ends up outside Mexico. They didn’t want to be under Mexico just like Texas but were too far for a Mexican invasion at the time and just requested annexation. They got the same treatment as Texas though with Mexico removing two of their governors like they did to Texas because they were talking about secession.
Is „Thompson“ where Astoria is supposed to be?
In this world the French conqueror and control Comancheria? On top of that the Comanche are just wiped from the map altogether? Idk how to feel about that considering with the weight of the US Army against them the entirety of Comancheria was the last stretch of land to be controlled by the US even with everything west already claimed and occupied. Also they were very close with the Kiowa and would have probably carved out some of the northern southern plains for themselves in the Missouri region.
Does this map assume that France does not turn over its Canadian provinces in the north east and Quebec?
Interestingly, St Pierre and Miquelon are still part of France. The islands lie only 10 miles from Newfoundland.
I think the likeliest conclusion would be the separate development of a French colony that would eventually secede from mainland France. I don’t think the, still young, United States would risk fighting in another war, vs a global power, and risk GB invading us during the distraction, as we’d be surrounded on all sides.
