      I find it hard to believe we don’t have enough trained and ready firefighters here, and they have a lot of wildfires in Mexico?

      I read this headline quickly as Mexican Cartels arrive to fight fires in Canada and thought damn, do we have these guys all wrong?

      Good for them. Back in 2023, the US sent a couple thousand firefighters to Canada to help (through the National Interagency Fire Center). Sadly, this year both Canada and the US are facing extreme wildfires, so there aren’t resources to spare. There has been some relatively small help from local firefighting groups, but the national groups are busy with their respective domestic fires.
