      I remember those funny coats. They were used for only a very short time, and after that, they were never seen again in drone footage.

      I bet when some russian drunkard comes up with a new „innovation“, they equip ten guys with it, send them toward west, and just see how long they survive. It’s cheaper than conducting scientific tests, because human lives are worth nothing to the russian regime.

      This is not a *completely* terrible idea.

      The shape is less human, so it is *slightly* less likely to be recognised at a distance, either by human eyes or by clever AI drone tech.

      The loose outer shell will have a much cooler surface, so it is less visible in IR.

      But if you walk across an open field covered by thousands of drones, you will still have the same result

      I think it’s ‘smart’ in a way. Not in the sense it actually works. We and Russia knows they don’t work at all, but if they can convince fresh meat they do work, I imagine it’s a lot easier to get men on the front line in the first place if they believe in their equipment.

      With the way he is moving I feel like he was sent alone as a test, as if his commanders werent sure it would work so they sacrificed him to figure out

      All the comments here seem to center around this being a strategy to avoid detection by drones. I always assumed this was punishment to make someone an easy target.
