Serious question- what’s so bad about Indian immigrants?
Jumping from a school owned by an entity with „Indian“ in its name to „Indian immigration will increase“ is a level of mental gymnastics that’s almost impressive in its thoughtless simplicity
I wish Japan did more to deal with these cowards making threats, instead of caving into them. On all kinds of issues.
I am an alumini from the other international school in Sapporo, which has been here for almost 70 years now (even though the protesters like to forget about it), and I find this very very sad. I kinda wish my school was able to speak up against racists regarding this or something but also I understand they needed to lay low & protect the students.
One of my kids went to the preschool section of one of the GIIS schools. Half the kids were Japanese, and the ethnically Indian ones mostly weren’t even Muslim.
Given Hokkaido’s demographics, it would be a good thing to encourage immigration there, to ensure services and public transportation remains viable in this beautiful region. And for Japanese people to moan about immigration to Hokkaido is a bit hypocritical, considering that mainstream Japanese people in Hokkaido are already immigrants – Hokkaido was mostly Ainu until the late 19th century.
But the company has Indian in it so surely it’s bad /s

I think some netouyos (incl. the guy who runs the above channel) created a big campaign on X for ‚Elon-bucks‘ that led to lots of randos from far-away to swarm-in to protect the abandoned school from becoming a base for „Indian invasion“ (LOL). This YT channel in particular is obsessed with this and keeps groaning on and on about it in multiple videos…
This is the problem.
Instead of dealing with these aholes, they give in.
They should call the cops on them and sue them into oblivion as a deterrent.
