      A lot of criticism of Infantino but this had the Americans written all over it.

      The trump administration got a taste of how popular football is and instantly wanted to hyper-commercialise it.

      Good. A world cup without England, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Norway, Croatia or Sweden isn’t a world cup. It would be just a handful of games to sit through until Argentina play Brazil in the final.

      Great news for English soccer fans! This’ll be at least one WC where they avoid having their hopes and dreams raised beforehand before being cruelly dashed again. Like for the past 60 years.

      I thought FIFA was an international organization from which all countries are equaly represented. Aparently I had a wrong impression. FIFA is just a scheme.

      I am kinda surprised, that people dont mention one massive thing – both CWC and WC are to be organize in Spain+Portugal+Morocco next year.

      Majority of the stadiums are in UEFA countries for next cycle. So if UEFA boycots the CWC and WC, FIFA would need to scramble to relocate (and in theory UEFA could put there different tournament for same time, as everything is gooing to be ready for it).

      I mean some EURO invitational…? EURO+10 invited countries?

      I’m actually glad UEFA showed some spine. Hope they not back down on this decision. Football is ours and is our duty to safe our game from the stupidity that this world cup was and the tournaments to come under FIFA.

      Honestly the Euro is the real championship. Hold a few spots for out of region qualification (the likes of Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Japan) to play in for and voila
