We’re seeing some big cracks here, been watching a long time, and they’re coming faster and faster.

From Wikipedia:  Oleg Vladimirovich Deripaska (Russian: Олег Владимирович Дерипаска; born 2 January 1968) is a Russian oligarch and billionaire. Deripaska began his career as a metals trader after the breakup of the Soviet Union.

    2. But it will not go bancrupt. It is not a typical private retail company in normal economy. It is major army supplier, with direct ties to goverment, in war economy. They may have lost the current stock, but they still have the know-how, experience and contacts where to get the equipments (and considering they are so big, Im pretty sure even how to bypass the sanctions). The state desperatelly needs them to keep operating, they will be given all the funds they need to survive.

The retail business may slow down, there may be temporary outages for military deliveries, and they will have to adapt (big warehouse can not be rebuild quick, so the will have to more into rental ones – that will be less effective). But they will survive – at least as long the war is going.

Saying Wilberries will go bancrupt because of 5 burned warehouses is like saying the military will go bancrupt, because their stockpiles are getting blown up.

    3. VTB Bank with $44B in assets, owns 5% shares in Wildberry financial services unit and probably holds most of the Wildberry debt. If WB collapses then this bank will collapse too. This will create a panic (just like in the 90s Soviet Union, which should drag all other banks down.

    4. This will be cause for some brief celebration before getting back to work

He’s the guy who was scolded by Pu.tin in that infamous video. The one in which oligarchs were allegedly compelled to sign a paper to keep a factory open.

    6. Problem is wildberreis gave lots of loans of money to drop shippers they bought goods, stored them at their warehouses ( for a fee) and then they sold them and payed the fee and the loan with interest. Now the goods got migrated to cloud storage. They have to pay the loan with interest, but they cant of course. So yeah they are loosing money big time.,.

they just lost 4 warehouses and they dont have to pay for the product lost. Why would they go bankrupt

    8. Don’t worry, we’re not far off from everyone in Russia making a run on the bank and withdrawing whatever they can to buy black market oil off the books. So the banks weren’t going to be around for long anyway.

    9. Wild that this gets more oligarchs and others talking more than their nation losing well over a million men to death or serious life changing injuries.

The human mind’s biggest failure is expecting linear developments.

The end of the war will come as a sudden jolt. It’s not something you can foresee with the mindset of a project planner.

Goody. What’s next after wildberries ? Find the absolute straw that breaks this camel

    12. „Wildberries‘ most recently reported total debt stood at approximately 1.3 trillion rubles at the end of 2025, of which at least 802 billion rubles were short-term debt obligations, and its debt to the major Russian bank VTB alone is said to have amounted to more than 500 billion rubles.“

He’s not wrong when he says that the bankruptcy of „Wildberries“ would pose a real problem; in that sense, they’ll probably be bailed out, propped up, or nationalized, but: Russia doesn’t have any money left either. It has always been, is, and will continue to be an very interesting situation.

Let’s hope for the best szenario: a nationwide bank run.

That would actually be a direct continuation of the current, similarly nationwide rush on Russia’s gas stations – in other words, essentially just a reversal of direction.

why is he telling us this instead of Putin? what do you mean Putin stopped caring a long time ago and who knows what the f he’s doing? yeah… maybe Deripaska and his fellow Russians should have cried a lot harder in 2021 when constitutional manipulation allowed the current Presidency to be extended until 2036….

Saying this kind of thing out loud is the kind of situation that causes a run on the banks. Keep going.

Did… did he just advocate for a bank run? (Depositors to all pull their money out.)

Western degeneracy and evil capitalism brings down Russia one again.

One of the reasons why Finland was able to keep such unique relations with USSR were all the little gifts packed in the train carts going back to Russia. For St Petersburg or Moscow elite owning a sweet hifi stereo set or Levi’s jeans was huge thing, it put you above others in hierarchy and you get all kinds of favors and soft power: „maybe this guy can get me one of those Phillips stereo too, he must be important to have that kind of stuff“.

They wanted everything western. Cowboys and chewing gum, cars and sunglasses and California surf, Swiss chocolate and knives, French champagne… All that decadence they were preaching about, how it destroys the west, that is what they wanted more than anything.

Now, capitalism is in Russia, and the soft bellies of Moscow have gotten used to bicmacs and call of duty, lip gloss and push-up bra’s, adidas and nike…. Them not getting those things has more effect on the popularity of war and Putin than an actual war.

Western decadence may actually cause its fall.

Thinly veiled „I won’t suggest that the public should do a bank run, but this is a situation where the public should typically do a bank run.“

It would be absolutely wild if this is what ends the war.

Sinking the black sea fleet? Pushing the Russian army away from Kyiv and then Kherson? The Kursk incursion? Oil refinery strikes?

Nope. A couple of drones on a Wildberries warehouse.

Remember when Mitch McConnell gut Oleg off the sanction list? I do.

Remember when Oleg was going to start an Aluminum plant in Mitch’s state of Kentucky after receiving subsidies? I do.

Remember when that company went tits up and shuffled ownership and leadership and never materialized costing the state money? I do.

Stop subsidizing billionaires especially foreign ones.
