      Does there come a point where mere USA federal approval is not enough, and those launching huge satellite constellations such as this should require worldwide approval … ?

      Funny how I got so downvoted for saying why do we really need all this ’shit‘ in the sky? It’s clearly making war more difficult as just look at what’s happening in Hormuz Strait.

      This is a literal nothing burger

      Starlink has already launched around 10k Satellites for its SATCOMM system so 5k for a start up competitor via Amazon seems kinda reasonable.

      We are never going to see the stars again if these weirdos get their way. Its just going to be satellite and light pollution.

      Going way north is going to become a big travel deal for the wealthy who want to be able to see the night sky. Workers and the poor will be kept out.

      It might seem like a lot, but it’s not. Earths spherical atmosphere space is quite large. ~1000 wouldnt really even make a dent in the airspace.

      If you oppose Musk’s satellite plans because of astronomy or the environment or fears of Kessler Syndrome, then you must oppose this as well or you’re a hypocrite.
