I’m going to guess it was a lot of working out along with a disciplined adherence to a strict diet.
And steroids, probably.

Ralph Fiennes rebuilt his body playing the same role for The Return. He wanted a beaten up looking body with muscles like old rope as though he had be rowing out at sea in the sun.

Also, always helpful to have months probably to workout with no other job than doing that and memorizing lines.

Super impressive he looked like a an greek sculpture
That’s not the usual body type we see when actors transform for a role. You can tell they were very specific in how they wanted him to look

This is honestly what i find annoying now with movies. Like I’m glad these actors are being healthier than ever but it’s getting ridiculous when they play everyman roles or characters that are supposed to be in their 50s and 60s but they are always fit af and in the best shape ever.
It’s completely different than say Harrison Ford playing Indy back in the day. Not out of shape but also not that muscular. It was more believable.

Now all I need is a team made up of a secretary, scheduling assistant, private chef, domestic helper, bodyguard, driver and personal trainer to cater to all my needs while I train to get in shape.

I’m not sure what any of these comments have to do with the article. Everyone complaining about this man’s fitness and just tossing steroids around. Like some of you have not grown up.

If the growth hormones and other steroids aren’t listed here, then this is a completely fake and useless list.
