staring at this line of tankers and thinking how much easier it is to hit them when their just sitting there. the drone strikes already knocked out the processing capacity, now they gotta move whatever’s left on roads that are probably clogged with checkpoints. once the refineries are offline, you’re stuck trucking fuel from further east, and volgograd’s already a chokepoint, so any hiccup in the rail network and the roads get slammed. and you know those drivers are sweating, no insurance company is touching that route, military or not. they’re basically rolling the dice every kilometer, and one drone with a cheap fragmentation warhead could turn that whole line into a bonfire. this is exactly the kind of logistical chokehold that wins wars, not flashy frontline pushes across some field. it’s slow, boring, and you don’t get medals for it, but it strangles the enemy’s ability to fight.
I love that Ukraine has been picking apart russia the past month or so. They planned perfection and have been executing it flawlessly. Death by a thousand cuts. My only wish is that they could have done this years ago before they had suffered so much loss. If we had leaders who had the backbone to fully support and fund Ukraine, instead of the slow drip we provided, this war would have been over for some time now.
Unfortunately russia has mostly managed to stabilize their fuel situation, there’s no cascading collapse happening.
A lot more refinery and fuel infrastructure strikes need to happen
The trickle down effect of this has to be pretty bad for them, the amount of disruption there has to be across the board with trucks struggling to get around
