    1. He wasn’t „stranded“, it was his decision to stay in orbit due to personal interest & will to avoid station being uncrewed due to schedule shifts.

Genuinely, Krikalev should be more noted as someone, who spoke against gigantic shitshow that was „Вызов“ cinema film. Very moral decision to go against Ernst’s (head of russian federal TV) another money laundering scheme.

And he temporarily lost his job, staying on his moral point, that crew rotation shouldn’t be disturbed by launching ~~vomitonator~~ nepo-actress into space. Gladly, it was so outrageously bad in eyes of almost everyone, so, he was re-employed few days after. (They still „soft-kicked“ him out of Roscosmos afterwards anyway).

But don’t think that he was some independent political figure – more like a ЕдРо tag person, they like to collect retirees from sports, art, sciences as some kind of public face. But unlike many others in such role, he wasn’t completely spineless at least at his professional occupation.

    2. Imagine leaving Earth as a citizen of one country and coming back to a completely different one. That has to be one of the strangest experiences any human has ever lived through.

There is more to that story. He officially became a deserter… in space.

    4. Butch and Sunni were stranded because their spacraft was broken. They did 300 days instead of 8. Sergei did 300 instead of 150. He was never alone. Dumb interment myth.

Is that the dude who’s been posting about being on earth for the first time?

      I often wonder about this.

Do they pack like 2 years worth of food on every trip just in case?

    7. He wasn’t stranded, and he wasn’t the sole occupant of the station when the Soviet Union went down. Aleksandr Volkov, a veteran cosmonaut and the father of Sergey Volkov who was also a cosmonaut, stayed with Krikalev.

    8. I’m just shocked that they planned to abandon him in space for over 150 days.
