The US backed Saudi military. Why not to remain consistent in the language used?
Genuinely surprised the Saudi’s got themselves into this. A blockade is an act of war as soon its challenged by the other side, and sooner or later, Ansarallah was going to challenge it. They have missiles/drones, you have underbelly soft targets and theres a lack of defensive munitions in the entire region. Yes, you can dole out punishment too, but how can it ever be worth the costs?
Airstrikes rarely shift Houthi behavior. They’ve absorbed Saudi bombing campaigns for years and kept launching missiles regardless of what gets hit. The actual pressure points are port revenue and external arms flow, not airpower. Symbolic strikes at this stage mostly serve domestic audiences in both capitals.
