Oh there are still plenty of people who want to work in Japan for a year or two, but extremely few companies are willing to take them
with the yen so weak, even people from developing countries are avoiding going to Japan to work

It should. I would beg at this point for Vietnamese and SEAsians in general to go to more humane countries. They exist it’s not easy. I get the proximity and safety
In my language school there are a lot of Nepali and Bangladeshi students. Most I’ve spoken to have told me they don’t like living here and want to go back.

The irony here is, that the weak yen is keeping foreign residents out of Japan better than any xenophobic policies Takaichi & Co. are enacting. To make sure that Japan only has residents of Japanese origin, they should make the exchange rate 1$ = 200¥. No foreigner will want to move to Japan.

The construction industry is the one I worry most about. Construction and demolition rates are already falling due to the tight labor market and rising material costs. Housing prices will continue to soar with fewer ppl willing to work these tough jobs. How will young ppl afford to buy a home?
Weaker yen means less tax-paying foreign workers and more tax-free foreign tourists. Amazing.

Vietnam is a poor example for this. Vietnam is a rapidly developing nation so naturally more people will be happy to stay home as life quality and wealth increases.

Even if the political tide turns, Japan has shown foreigners looking to live abroad who they are, that combined with a weak currency and an outlook that seems bleaker and bleaker each year makes wanting to live here an afterthought
