Farage clearly doesn’t know the facts. A big chunk of the people who prevent deal with are suspected islamists. You know, real islamists, not just every muslim in the land being painted as one. Prevent deals with one of the big issues Reform seem to care so much about.

Do you think Farage actually wants to lose? He could get another seat say 12 months before the next election. The statute of limitations into investigation into his finances would cease as he received that donation more than a year before he was elected. I’m a voter, I think he’s a crook but I don’t live in Clacton so I can’t get rid of him.
I have a feeling that quite a lot of the voters who do live in Clacton do think he’s a crook, but they don’t care because they’ve been persuaded that he’s *their* crook.
But the public don’t have the same evidence available to them as the standards committee, do they Nige?
How disingenuous and what monumental conceit.
He’s been explicit about believing voters (at least the ones in the constituency in which he is standing for reelection) don’t care that he is a crook.
Part of me wants him to win only so the standards investigation can continue and expose everything there is before taking it to a criminal investigation.
I think if he loses he will wait 3 years for memories to glaze over and try to come back again.
At this point he’s probably expecting to lose so its all dropped and it’ll be funny to see him win and have a smug grin drop off his face instead though he’s got no shame so I might just be being hopeful

Well, no.
In our system we can’t vote against a candidate only for someone.
If he wants to advocate for a system where we can have simple yes/no as to whether we want to keep an MP then I’m all ears.
My preference would be in the event of a recall election you get two ballot papers. One a keep or sack referendum. The second with the other candidates in the usual FPTP system (excluding the sitting MP but the sitting party is free to have a separate candidate.)
You count the referendum ballots first – if it’s 50% + 1 yes then the MP keeps their seat and everyone goes home. If it’s no then the MP is sacked and we count the FPTP ballots to determine the new mp.
I’ve voted in plenty of elections with 2 ballot papers – one with three once – so it’s hardly a novel concept.

Please go easy on us and spare us of the mildly inquisitive nature of Annabel Denham and the telegraph. This is a weak article on poor Farage’s plight, glazing over the effect such „donations“ can have on our policy and just taking his word for it without a question. Not to mention the faux attempt at criticising his immigration arguments:
