This seems very strange. It was a very slow manoeuvre. Both car and cyclist were under 10mph.

Cars don’t bunny hop or rabble to main rain balance. The cyclist appears to be in good control. So I don’t understand the danger anyone is saying the cyclist posed here.

The actual danger moment, if one existed might be before the clip, on the approach. 🤷 

This logic seems very strange indeed.

I feel like this isn’t the whole video. 

‚car he had reported earlier‘ suggests that the cars in the video aren’t the offending car, and it’s only the cyclists error here, which is a bit unreasonable. That gaps big enough for a cyclist and no one is really at risk of injury. 

It’s one thing to risk a tight squeeze at low speeds and on a bike, quite another to risk putting a high speed metal box next to a person.

He could be reporting that car, but that just seems a little too silly, that car had right of way 

£1200 is an absolutely insane fine for this offence. In most instances a driver would only get near a fine like this if they’d killed someone.

Reporting this when the cyclist was in the wrong was an error on his part. But magistrates courts are a pile of shit. They are overseen by unqualified volunteers. Often making personally influenced judgments. £1200 sounds excessive.

At least the unoccupied car blocking half the road has been vindicated

Is he saying that the Volvo was driving badly?? He had a hazard(BMW) on his side of the road and should’ve given way to the Volvo until it was safe to overtake the car on his side. He’s at fault here not the Volvo. As a cyclist I would’ve stopped and let him pass and then overtaken at a safe distance to avoid the risk of a door opening as I can’t see if there’s anyone in the car

Shame it wasn’t footage of them running a red light, „because bikes don’t injure people“
