Anything but accountability.
why does India need to shut down its internet, only dictators do that
Free publicity for the app.
We don’t have technocrats in govt. even if GitHub removes it , the code and software is already in the wild: android users will side load the apps anyway. iOS users will compile and load even if taken off the App Store
I will seed copies in undisclosed cloudy places.
Thanks for the recommendation, Modiji. Didn’t even know this existed.
[What an effect](https://youtu.be/wWhtcU4-xAM)
Oh nice I didn’t know about it!
Probably a good app then, worth checking!

People are going to fork the repo.
I’ve read about it a few times and wasn’t really interested. This was the push I needed to download it. Thanks, Indian government!
Streisand Effect is action, baby.
This might sound dumb, but what about giving into the reforms of your government to appease them?
jack dorsey’s name always steals the spotlight huh
If Modi shuts down access to GitHub in India the riots are going to escalate drastically.
Trying to stop people’s ability to communicate is evil.
Awesome, I will download it now and encourage all my friends to get it. We’re not Indian but it will happen everywhere there is unrest eventually.
Not surprising considered:
„India leads the world with the highest number of state-imposed internet shutdowns, recording hundreds of blackouts tracked by groups like Access Now over the past several years.“
De-mock-cracy
Wow so it works
this action directly shows how incompetent and moronic this government is!
if github removes it, then it will disappear forever … right…. right??
and the only instinct is ban this, ban that, ban whatever we want! tell the public “foreign meddling” as justification and people eat it up
Never heard of it before, now I have. Thanks India and good luck in your protests.
I love the Streisand effect of demanding something they have no burden to do and just amplifying their reach in the process.
Nothing new, Indian government threatened Twitter/X offices to remove thousands of Twitter/X handles during the last farmer’s protest.
Why do they always include these thirsty pictures of Jack Dorsey?
People should also be aware of
Tiananmen Square incident
Is there an Android version
Google is still talking about removing app sideloading aren’t they?
Lol, “Orders GitHub” like they’re not some fuckass country with no leverage.
So someone’s going to fork it to another repo, and… yeah.
Why would India have any say what github does?
