the arrest warrant is already there lol, this is just political pro palestine performance by london’s mayor

„Sadiq Khan“, mayor of London, much like, „Zohran Mamdani“, mayor of New York, does not have the power to enforce arrest warrant. Andy Burnham does.

    3. London, New York, if ANYONE had the balls to do it, they’d not announce it. This is theater.

At least Mamdani appeared on video and told us that he lied to us, he doesn’t have the power to arrest Bibi.

He can carry out the action once ordered to but the arrest isn’t his call to make.

Bibi not going to a new Euro part of the Islamic caliphate … London or Paris

I get where he’s coming from but this is just performative nonsense. Talk about what you actually can do, and then do it

    8. It’s funny how all this mayors pretend they have the power to detain heads of states.

It’s all lies. They only perform for the stupid audience for a few applauses.

He was calling this „student politics“ not that long ago. Guess he stuck his finger in the air and worked out which way the wind was blowing, finally.

    10. This isn’t news, it’s pandering, the UK are members to the ICC, the London mayor would never be expected to enforce an ICC warrant because the UK government would do it directly.

Pantomime politics. The Mayor doesn’t go about arresting anyone and if he instructed the Met to do so, he would suddenly find himself receiving some rather terse phone calls.

    12. Same pattern as iran
Seems Iran are the benefactor for these corrupted officals

    13. Genuinely, I would love to see it. To see a modern politician being held accountable for war crimes.

    14. People are ingoring the very real difference that the UK is part of the ICC, the US is not. If Netanyahu ever came to London he most likely WOULD be arrested (unless the UK is done with international law). It’s why he hasn’t visited the UK since the ICC warrant.

The difference between this and the new york declaration is that the UK, unlike the US, is a signatory to the ICC and so would be treaty-bound to arrest him on British soil.

Muslim mayor announces desire to detain Jewish head of state, more at 11.

Whilst I imagine any enforcement of ICC warrants in the UK would likely fall under the Met’s jurisdiction, I would assume that the Mayor of London does not have any direct influence over the decision making and enforcement activity of the Met in this regard.

More performative nonsense. Bibi isn’t going to London, but the guy sure got his soundbite!
