Did the top 1% make it at the expense of the bottom 50%?or did the bottom 50% fail to take opportunities freely available to them. This matters if you believe wealth is earned Vs an entitlement.

We are far from rich but our debt is only 15% of our NW.
We do not do anything that requires us to take on debt so we save up for home improvement vs using HELOC, etc.
It’s a pretty solid way to live and we feel much more freedom than most people who are doing it the stupid way
