There are plenty of other MPs who are bi-lingual, just not in French.
Not any „native language“ MP in Canada ?
I understand Quebec is French first with their language but I have a very hard time believing that there are MPs who have never learned English!
I am confused by the English only MP on the South Island of Montreal.
Francis Scarpaleggia is the Speaker of the House. He did not get that job being a monolingual.
Far too many English only.
goes to show indigenous languages should be given some sort of official recognition in canada, inuktitut for example
Hey, I can see my house from here.
jarring colour choices here
The MP for Lac-Saint-Louis (westernmost riding on the island of Montreal) is the Speaker of the House of Commons. He speaks French on a daily basis as part of his job. Idk why it says „English only“.
Edit: I just realized this also has Pierre Poilievre, the leader of the Conservatives, as English only. He also speaks French often while campaigning/debating, and it’s not that bad.
don’t know if it’s true but it’s crazy to have someone monolingual English on the Island of Montréal. talk about having no respect
I thought all MPs have to be bilingual at least in theory, no?
