And what does Sec 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 cover? It identifies the use of forced labor as an actionable foreign practice subject to the president’s retaliatory authority. So, 60 countries **all of a sudden** have forced (slave) labor practices that would incur these tariffs?
This won’t stand up to law, but it’ll be months before anything stops them, by which time the damage is, once again, done.
