Russia’s demographics is going to be screwed after this war. I know russia is throwing a lot of ethic minorities into the meat grinder. but at some point is going to run out of ethic minorities and is going to have draft Russians from Moscow and St Petersburg

Looks like a day of reckoning is coming to Russian people. Continue to accept Putin’s rule and let Russia fall ever deeper into quagmire it may never crawl out of or revolt and save what it has still left.
Putin is just solving the fuel crisis in a unique way. You see if there’s less men around to drive cars, then there will be a reduced need for fuel! It’s much cheaper for them to get blown up by an fpv drone than to try and produce more gas.
He is just helping Russians to find the fuel they need in the frontlines.

They’ve got 8m men they can still draft. The Russian population is sizeable.
I fear they can keep the drip of bodies to front for sometime.
The Russian economy is so isolated, it is hard to wear down.
The Russian people national past time is suffering. Particular enjoying their neighbours. They might be crying on TikTok, but older Russians love it.
This is a grind. It is working. But it needs more to get there quicker.
I don’t think Putin is going to call it a ‘mobilization’ because that would mean that Russia is in full war instead of just SMO. That will have heavy implications.

I don’t know what they think will happen sometime, Russians has not the men power to hold all of Ukraine. The more the Russian Troops go into Ukraine the more loose do their defence go.

They’ve been mobilizing without calling it that for years now. First it was a „Partial mobilization“ as Putin called it, then it was emptying out of prisons, then it was massive recruitment drives with large signup bonuses to get anyone desperate to sign up, then it was hiring mercenaries and getting North Koreans to help out. In the last year they’ve been forcing Russian businesses to send quotas of men to the armed forces and been rounding up people in busses from villages and towns around the country.
„We’re going to mobilize now!“ is just another propaganda tactic for Putin trying to say „Now we’re *really* going to start fighting, for real actually this time!“ aka the old „The gloves will finally come off“ narrative they started coping with the week after their offensive on Kyiv collapsed nearly 5 years ago.
Winter is going to be fun for Russians

Mobilisation or not, Russia will still need fuel to get these troops to the front lines. I’m guessing the army still has reserves of fuel dotted about but does it have enough to sustain what is being lost? I’m not sure of the figures but I wouldn’t like to bet on it.
They’re at the point where mobilization isn’t the answer anymore. It might induce some gains on the front but otherwise it won’t be anything more than a logistical nightmare and an absolutely devastating blow to their already faltering economy.

My children and billions more are growing up learning that Russia is „the bad guy“. They aren’t going to unlearn it either.
How many kids around the world are growing up thinking Russia is justified in their war?
Perhaps that does not matter because all kids think war is stupid and their opinions don’t matter right now…but they will grow up. And they will remember Russia as Russia.
Wild that we’re now at the moment where Russia might be internally considering the idea that they might not just „lose the war“ in spirit, but may actually materially lose the war and end up owing reparations to Ukraine as a matter of surrender.
They already take in to national service about 150k every spring and autumn. Does this mean he is going to include these in the numbers or is he going to still keep these out of the war.
