    1. I hope the courts decide to allow the publication of the names. If anyone was complicit, covered up abuse, or chose to do nothing when they knew what was happening, that should be publicly known. Survivors deserve transparency and accountability.

      >The High Court has previously criticised the now head of the Christian Brothers, David Gibson, for an allegedly “obstructive” approach towards lawsuits alleging abuse.

Why hasn’t he been put before the courts for perverting the course of justice?

    3. > The High Court has previously criticised the now head of the Christian Brothers, David Gibson, for an allegedly “obstructive” approach towards lawsuits alleging abuse.

      > Brother Gibson has refused to act as a ’nominee‘ for the congregation, leaving litigants needing to bring legal action against individual members or former members of the order.

      Utter scumbag behaviour.

I went through the Christian Brothers school system and ensured the tail end of corporal punishment before it became illegal. I have no memory of any decent Christian Brother, they were all a shower of abusive bastards, but no matter how bad you had it, there was always some poor fucker who got it worse.

Would like to see a list, because beyond the usual humiliation rituals and physical abuse, I’m sure some of them that I encountered were up to a lot more, I’ve heard enough stories over the years to convince me that there is no smoke without fire.
