Mit anderen Worten: 320.000 Yen, die in Japan ausgegeben wurden, wären vor 15 Jahren nur etwa 100.000 Yen wert gewesen.“

Singapore’s GDP per capita has also grown from 50k to 100k.
Whereas Japan’s GDP per capita has fallen from 50k to 35k
Japan is not only losing its people, it’s people are losing productivity and it’s currency is losing value.

Singapore is also the top spot for Japanese who want to work abroad seeking higher wages. Not sure if it’s changing but I think it still is.
I mean, are there countries that don’t have Japan as their major tourist destination

Singapore salaries are sooo good compared to Japan. The only downside is the weather, outdoors and the culture imo. Everything else SG is better.
Living and working in Japan as a Singaporean seems mental. I have a friend who’s doing it. He’d be better off working there and visiting once a month.
Many Japanese are mistaking the fact that currency exchange rates is the biggest reason why Japan is considered cheap by the foreigners.
Price of goods and services in Japan are dirt cheap even if the currency exchange rate is at $1=120jpy
Raising the prices is a sin. This is Japanese mentality. And they abided by it for many years. Now, we have this current situation.

Back when I lived in Singapore, I was honestly shocked by how unbelievably clean the city was. When it comes to litter, I think Singaporeans are probably the only people who would consider Japan dirty.
