    1. The point of a representative government is to not have crazy pendulums caused by erratic “leaders”.

Sorry, Mr. Gere, this current administration is literally killing people and reducing our standing in the world.

That’s nice and extremely hopeful. I’m worried about the people who, in this country and around the world, are going to suffer and yes, die because of this administration’s policies and failures.

It’s easy to have a cheery view of things when you’re personally not affected

    4. I like the guy but he speaks from a place of immense privilege. Many folks won’t make it to the post trump chapter.

    5. Does the guy get zero credit for sticking his neck out to speak against the current regime? It doesn’t benefit him in any way and will certainly cause him some sort of grief. I honestly don’t understand the blowback on celebrities who speak out for what is right instead of applauding anyone who has the courage to take the risk to speak up and show courage. I welcome anyone who speaks against whats going on, especially someone with a platform to reach a large audience in such scary times.

Roll out the truth social about the ‘HAS BEEN ACTOR.. insult, insult, insult.. ‘

    7. He’s a bit detached. Nothing is personally affecting him. What about those taken by ICE detained in concentration camps who didn’t get a chance to prove their citizenship or legal progress towards citizenship? We just wait until the pendulum swings? I don’t think it’s okay to wait at this point. The situation with ICE, the economy, the war, healthcare, housing and cost of living is dire. It calls for urgency. The planet and people are dying! People must rise up! Protest and resist in any way you can.

He’s an optimistic. I also hope the pendulum swings back to normality vs global corruption and violence

Well he loves having rodents in close proximity so doesn’t surprise me

No one asked. Also … he’s rich and famous. His perspective is skewed. It’s nice to have optimism when you’re living easily comfortably.

    11. **“He’s hurt so many people. And he’s caused so many deaths. But, it will be over.“**

      **There is no forever.**

I love this mentality, so good for one’s mental health and that of those around you

Makes me want to revisit The Richard Gere Museum, I’ve been needing to make a trip to Chicago anyway
