Against who tho? Im not a hater, but doesnt Greece have better things to spend on?

    2. Why would a country with a world-class roster of mythological figures name this after one who’s most famous for having a fatal weak spot?

Maybe not a great idea to name your anti missile shield after a hero famously killed by a range weapon

Greek politicians‘ plan to race with Turkish politicians about personal wealth.. I wonder the promised %

Iron dome failed against Iranian missiles and Turkey’s MIC is much better than Iran’s.

Seems like superfluous spending to prop up Europe/Israel’s defense sector.

To think „defending“ such islands located that close to Turkiye and that far away from the mainland Greece, against a „propable attack“ is crazy. That looks like a certain road to bankruptcy and total failure. Good luck with that dear neighbour, wish you the best.

And how are they going to pay for it ?
German pensioner’s saving via ECB bond-buyback program ? Funniest thing of all is that one NATO member is spending money to defend itself from another NATO member. With friends like that, who needs enemies…

Greece is incurring absurd expenses to counter fabricated threats, driven by its own domestic politics.

      >Israel is 1/20th the size of Greece.

      >Israel’s every neighbor and neighbors neighbor lobs bombs at them on a regular basis.

      >Israel does not have a %140 debt to GDP ratio and had to be bailed out.

Absolutely comedic, Greece’s Turkey hatred will be their downfall.

This is illegal. Greece isn’t allowed to arm the islands and this will cause huge headaches for them in the future.

Isnt this useless? Also the cost would be quite high for a country in a economic crisis no?

Even in this image, half of the international waters are included. Will Türkiye be unable to send planes and ships through that area?

    13. Yea placing anti air missiles on islands demilitarized by Lausanne that’ll also overlap Turkish air space will defined wont backfire.

    14. why does greece of all nations need this and can they even afford it? im sure their people will protest against this

As one of the less wealthy NATO/EU States it would be wild to do a huge military program that would solely address a ballistic threat from a fellow NATO state that has both a massive *conventional* army and a drone program.

Defence against whom? If Turkey and Greece went to war it would be one of the dumbest decisions ever. Erdogan will go any day soon. It would be best if Turkey and Greece have the same relations like Norway and Sweden or Germany and France. Make peace not dumb wars. 🇹🇷🤝🇬🇷

I honestly think something about Sisyphus would be a great name. Task of Sisyphus. Memory of Sisyphus. Sisyphus’s rise. Peak of Sisyphus.

      I dunno.

Not super „Wow this is so great“ but moreso „This isn’t a task about winning, but about maintaining and keep going.“ Regarding pushing a boulder constantly.

It’s not about reaching a point of winning. It’s just perpetually stopping something bad from happening. (Boulder/missiles falling down)

Trying to save/preserve what is and was.

Even if they don’t reach the mountain top, then fuck it they’re gonna push the boulder as far up as they can anyway.

And to my knowledge Sisyphus did nothing bad.

I’m sure someone could come up with an amazing name. But I really really like the comparison.

This is some ace combat shit. Is it held together with a really long tunnel too?

How nice of Greece to provide a defense umbrella over the Turkish mainland 🙂
