I lived in Georgia for 3 years and used that language all the time(since nobody speaks English and I failed to learn Georgian beyond basic stuff) and no one was even remotely aggressive because of that

the worst case of bad treatment out of assumption that I am from ruzzia (which I am not) was when some boss lady in spar directed me to a cashier that doesn’t speak russian, telling me she speaks it perfectly well, I told her „I know you’re joking“ and went to that cashier anyway because I learned enough Georgian to go to grocery stores, postal office, etc.

also since they say „номер“ I assume it’s a hotel, some hotels have abysmal sound insulation

the only time I was mad at someone at a hotel – it was a hotel back home in Kharkiv where a couple in their 50s had a bit too much drunk fun in the room next to our. The only reason why I didn’t kick that guy’s ass is because he was too afraid to open the door after he ignored my previous warnings and woke me up at 4am, and the hotel staff intervened, otherwise he’d get the same treatment

so I’d assume something like this happened, you can get people real mad by not letting them sleep if they have plans the next morning, no matter which language you use

Unfortunately I think the reason is because people want to somehow justify assault. Unless you are physically confronted first, keep your hands to yourself. I think this is a pretty commonly accepted rule in any civil world. If we go around hitting everyone we are irritated with there will be all our war on the streets 24/7.
