    1. Absolute bull from the state department. Cuba hasn’t been a threat to the US and the only reason it’s kept as a problem is to court a voting base in Florida at this point

I love how the people who claim to be the foremost defenders of Western Civilisation are the ones doing the most to destroy it.

I mean, Cuba is run by a shitty communist Government, but this feels more like cope and justification for whatever moves the US wants to pull next.

The pedophile is the one waging war against spending the rest of his putrid life behind bars.

While Cuba is held by a hostile regime and it should be brought back under US sphere of influence, it’s an over exaggeration to call it a threat to the West.

The fact that Cuba has a very different ideological foundation and framework than us, and that they have sometimes used influence or even espionage campaigns in the past in support of said ideology, does not make them an imminent threat against the United States, let alone the whole of Western civilization. (And this is all leaving aside the fact that Western civilization birthed the concepts of revolutionary communism.)

If Trump couldn’t do anything about Venezuela what’s the plan with Cuba? Venezuela is 100 times easier. All you need is a friendly regime on the border then push into Venezuela with an army. Cuba requires land landing which last time ended up the biggest single mission disaster in US history. If anything Venezuela will be the preferred choice if you want to invade. But you need to wait for Brazil to get a new president like Bolsonaro’s son.

A hundred pages dedicated to an island of 11 million people still running Soviet-era equipment. That’s not intelligence work, that’s a campaign pamphlet aimed squarely at Florida voters every election cycle. If Cuba is your flagship example of a threat to Western civilisation in 2025, the State Department should spend those pages examining the threats brewing at home instead.

The pretext is there, it is a matter of time for an invasion to happen.

Another invasion to protect the „freedom“ of the Americans.

    10. Western Civilization must be in real trouble if a poor Caribbean country’s politics can scare the US.

Considering they aimed those high frequency sound weapons at US personnel and likely have intelligence gathering infrastructure from Russia/China it’s not that far a stretch to say they at least pose some threat. Let’s not forget the Cuban missile crisis too. These revolutionary’s are dangerous, they have no issues subjugating their people to the point that they take rafts to the US. If they were more politically isolated and just wanted to rule their Island then it wouldn’t be much of an issue but being friends with the likes of Iran, Russia and China which are hostile to the US/west automatically makes them a threat.

    12. Here I was thinking both Cuba and Communism were both parts of Western Civilization. Silly me.

    13. So many people say they can’t believe how anyone could believe the WMDs excuse for the Iraq invasion. Well, this is how you do it. We are getting a front row seat on American war propaganda.

    14. Who knew? The Cubans are like real-life Bond villains. What would we do without the Americans to put this right?
