Taco Bell outside of Japan is already pretty bland.
In Japan they are both bland AND super stingy with ingredients.

Little bit of (hopefully not annoying) trivia. Taco Bell is not Mexican. It was started by a white guy in California named Glenn Bell. He used to have a ranch not too far from San Diego and operated a small amusement park on it.

I had it in Shinjuku and it was ok. Basically the same as the US imo. Rice might have been a bit different.

¥900 for a veggie burrito, plus ¥700 for a 生ビール is great by American standards, but i’d love an expanded menu (or the dreaded customizable boogeyman) to hit Taco Bell before i start regularly spending money there. otherwise, real-ish Mexican food will do me just fine in the interim
Imagine moving all the way to Japan and then disrespecting yourself by ingesting Taco Bell.

Taco Bell is already here and I found it nonsensically overpriced for the fare.
I realize after typing this that it’s celebrating its Kichijoji opening.

Ate at one while in Tokyo as a joke to myself. It’s my favorite here in the states and was 1 of only 2 American restaurants I went to. Like others say the food was bland but in like a very Taco Bell kind of way. It wasn’t like some you hear about that taste better outside of the states. They did have more unique choices tho. It has potential but prices def need to be lower for what you’re getting.
I also went to McDonalds my first night because it was one block over at my hotel and was the only thing opened that wasn’t a konbini. I actually hated what I bought but that’s more because it was a special exclusive collab. The chicken sandwich was infinitely better than any mchicken or chicken sandwich here.

Maybe not a concern with the chain for Japan , but Canada and north US states did not source the raw ingredients without risk of illness. [https://globalnews.ca/news/11969762/taco-bell-lettuce-cyclosporiasis-outbreak/](https://globalnews.ca/news/11969762/taco-bell-lettuce-cyclosporiasis-outbreak/)
