Some stats-Quebec English primary speaking population represents 15% of the province population. That is 1.25 million in habitants which about the size equal or more then an Atlantic or prairie province (minus Alberta)

There basically a large minority in relative terms
It is unacceptable and ridiculous for the Quebec leaders to refuse to hold an English language debate. The percentage of Quebecers that speak English as a primary language is about in line with the percentage of Canadians that speak French as a primary language. Imagine the uproar that there would be if during the next federal election, the leaders decided to not bother holding a French debate given that only 15-20% of the population would be interested in it.
The Quebec political establishment is and has always been hyprocrites and a national disgrace.
I still think they should hold the debate. Have QS, PCQ, and three empty podiums for the PLQ, PQ, and CAQ who refuse to show up

This is not about having an English language debate, it’s about having a debate moderated by the angryphone Gazette. Any wise politician would nope out of it.
The Gazette can cry and scream as much as they want. But anglophones motivated by anglo minority rights won’t stop voting for the Liberals just because Milliard refused to attend an English language debate. And most anglos aren’t going to be primarily motivated by this issue anyway. And anglos are concentrated in a select set of ridings where the Liberals won’t lose even if they drop 20pts.
From a political POV I don’t think Milliard made much of a mistake. From a moral POV is a different question.
