Shane Gillis has made comedy history.

With 76,212 tickets sold for his July 17 show at Lincoln Financial Field, the stadium home of the Philadelphia Eagles, Gillis has broken the Guinness World Record for most tickets sold for a comedy show by a solo comedian.

Guinness World Records adjudicator Andy Glass verified the official ticket sales figures and confirmed the record to
      Variety.
When he took the stage, Gillis broke a separate Guinness World Record for largest audience for a comedian, which was determined by the verified attendance count inside the stadium. That number was 73,946 attendees, beating the previous record
held by Mario Barth, who performed for 67,733 people at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on July 12, 2008. (It was reported in 2025 that Gabriel Iglesias and Jo Koy could have eclipsed Barth’s attendance number with their joint show at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, but a rep says the record was never officially attempted with Guinness.)

    2. What a testament to the sad state of our country and the idiocy of the masses.

Dude’s funny, but what a bad venue for comedy. Rather see Stavii at Mcgoobys.

All the maga chuds are trying to shit on this because they arent sure if gillis sucks off trump hard enough for them to like him or not

    5. I assume MAGA people felt obligated to go because Shane is their guy, therefore his success validates their voting preferences or whatever.

    6. Foreign bots a right wing grifting propagandists doing their job propping this guy and others up.

So glad I grew up with Robin Williams and other comics that were funny and weren’t heavily clearly used to push a right wing agenda.

Guinness „world records“ are essentially publicity and not tracked with any sort of rigor. I wish we’d all stop paying attention to the announcement of one of these „achievements“ and so could watch them go away.

This thread is quite funny considering that everyone around me at the show thought it was hilarious, we got to see meek mill, eagles legends, Dave Chappell. Sound was coming through just fine even at the 200 level.

Reddit will Reddit though and act like he is somehow not funny and that this was a bad event.
