There’s only one candidate that matters, all the others are jokes.

      All hail Count Binface!

There is only one candidate worth voting for that isn’t a joke. Count Binface.

    3. logosobscura on

I love that Laurence Fox is both a joke candidate and legitimate drain on Nige.

Can we get a Nigella Fromage to run? Even the odds against all the charlatans running against the obviously superior candidate, Count Binface.

    4. clamorous_owle on

The Count actually has a chance. The Reclaim Party is further to the right than Reform UK. It got 6.8% in the Makerfield by-election won by Andy Burnham.

If enough people on the right are tired of the Farage Russian sleaze and choose Reclaim, there could soon be a Bin in the House.

Labour, the Conservatives, the Greens, and Lib Dems haven’t fielded candidates in Clacton but have reasons to want to defeat Farage. If their voters unite behind the Count and Reclaim siphons off votes from Reform, then Clacton is in for an amazing result.

    5. I think we all know Count Binface is the only real contender here.

This whole farce is at least going in the right direction. I mean he didn’t even hold a single surgery (as in public meeting) since he was their MP.

It would be a really bad move for people of Clacton to vote him in again.

I love that there are three candidates from the The Official Monster Raving Loony Party. Splitting their own vote is so on brand.

If I were able to vote, I would vote for the man who has promised to „raise taxes on EVERYONE but YOU,“ and has pledged to do „infinitely more“ than the incumbent to help with the housing crisis by building a single low income housing unit.

Hail Count Binface! In disorder we trust!

    8. This article was sponsored by a nervous Nigel Farage, trying to spread out the votes against him.

Count Binface is the only right answer. God I hope he beats Farage. That would be the most hilarious thing ever.

    9. Farage: „Let the people decide, NoT ThE WeStMiNsTeR ElItE“

Lol, he’s a stereotypical silver spoon in mouth toff.

I hope bin face wins, couldn’t care less if its farage, but it will send a signal to politicians that they are starting to look farcical and no one believes them anymore

The major parties choosing not to send candidates was such a masterful stroke of genius.

This has basically become a clown show or dozens of weirdos and everyone is munching on popcorn laughing.

Not what Farage envisioned at all I’m sure.

Even if he wins, the reaction will be „oh wow, you won against a man with a bin on his head, congrats?“

    12. That idiot is coming back to do even more damage to the UK than he did with Brexit.

Just like Trump did to the US.

Imagine if binface was farage in disguise!!

It would be the biggest reveal.

Hopefully bin face had to register as human somewhere so is not farage

Did reform desperately find as many people as possible so the by election doesn’t look as pathetic as it was going to?

    15. There’s actually a precedent written into law for Nigel Farage standing in an election as one of 34 candidates

You can find out more by googling Nigel Farage rule 34

    16. BlkKnight_lanse on

All these candidates standing make it easier for farage to win.

If it was just Binface we might have stood a chance of kicking him out.

    17. Andrew Tate is an „important voice“ for young men.

      – Nigel Farage

This was after they were charged with human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women.

    18. ChewyChagnuts on

I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of these novelty candidates were put up to it by Reform. They’ll split the Binface vote and give Nige more of a chance of success.

    19. preposterousputty on

How about a Parliamentary rule that a resigning MP cannot stand in the next election? Eliminate this particular form of fuckery.

    20. shortercrust on

Big annoying spoilers. It would have been so much more fun with just two candidates.

    21. No-Scholar4854 on

      Context for the non-UK readers:

      1. All of this is being investigated by the parliamentary authorities, and one possible result is that he would stand for election again in a special by-election. If he won he could legitimately say “yes, you found I broke the rules, but my constituents decided they still wanted me to represent them”.
      2. Rather than face that risk, he’s tried to shortcut the process by forcing his own by-election before all the details are public. The idea seemed to be that he’d get that renewed mandate and then when the standards commission report comes out he could say “this again? The people of Clacton have already settled this.”
      3. That might well have worked, but all his serious opponents have said “no, this is an obvious stunt. We’re not standing, we’ll fight you in the real election once the voters know the facts”

As a result Farage is facing 33 joke candidates, and the most he’ll be able to say is “the people of Clacton chose me over a bin”

    22. Reform agents out recruiting as many independents as possible to soak up some of Binface’s votes. They must’ve absolutely shit themselves when no other big Party stood a candidate.

„populist“ is the incorrect spelling for“ right-wing arsehole“
