Interestingly, Dunkirk felt the longest out of his recent films when I first watched it.

movie run time is generally longer now than it was in the 90s
At least for Interstellar and Oppenheimer I think they were easily about have an hour too long. Well made but I didn’t appreciate the pacing at times.
I know people argue it’s for immersion and to give the story gravity, but imo he overdid it a bit.
At times I felt like I was sitting through a loading screen, waiting for the movie to continue which if anything broke immersion for me.
It would be interesting to see how they compare to other movies.
Budget go up, time go up too?
Memento is still the GOAT.
I just revisited it and it held up great. It’s surprisingly funny and fun for a Nolan movie. I really saw how it may have influenced Weapons with its format made of short, memorable sequences.
I also don’t think Nolan ever filmed a more emotionally impactful scene than the sequences with Stephen Tobolowki and Harriet Samson Harris as Sammy Jenkis and his wife. Absolutely heartbreaking.
Would love to see The Odyssey, but I can’t do three hours in a movie theatre. Personally, my optimal movie is the classic 100 minutes. I’ll wait to watch The Odyssey at home, when I can break into more digestible pieces.
