    1. It’s because of Medieval Event that occurs in August in Santa Maria da Feira, it’s just a decoration themed type of flag.

    2. What the others already said and it‘s a huge event – well worth a visit.

    3. indica o inicio de 12 dias de caça aos mouros, 29/07 a 09/08… tax free

To celebrate the crusades and the hunting of the moors every year a medieval fair is held and the locals get to show their pride by hanging a medieval flag. It’s all very simbolic

      The medieval recreation is coming.

So, the municipality spent the taxpayers money offering a (most likely) chinese-made flag for people to hang on the window. In the end it goes to the garbage bin, closing the sustainability cycle.

As there is no remaining medieval building on the town (90% of it was built after 1970s, just like that monster in the picture, and not even the castle is medieval on the actual configuration) it does look stupid and out of context.

But in the end no one cares. After all they are happy seeing their money spent on garbage and recreations that essentially consist on queueing forever to buy pork sandwiches for 5€ on a wooden shack.

    8. Viagem Medieval (Medieval trip translated literally).

Its an event that happens once a year around beginning of August that has recreation events of medieval Portugal.
