    1. Do we have a clear reason why Zelensky replaced the other guy in the first place?

Ok. Is this some kind of 4D chess move he is pulling, or have I been interacting with too many russian bots and over-interpreting everything like they do with Putin?

If he reinstates the other guy and fires Syrsky, I’m going to assume that was the plan all a long.

It goes to show that despite Ukraine making exceptional progress in asymmetrical drone warfare (largely thanks to Fedorov), there’s still the question of Ukrainian symmetrical and conventional warfare on the front, and where money need to be spent to achieve Ukraine’s goals.

I’m afraid that the war has two fronts: the asymmetrical use of long range drones into Russia, which has been exceptionally successful – and the front-line fighting, which has been an exercise of short range drones and gradual surrendering land to Russia at the cost of lives on both sides.

Syrskyi commands hundreds of thousands of troops. His remit is to retain and regain control of his country’s territory. I can see why someone in his position is upset that the MOD is spending crucial cash on long range strikes while he wants more abilities required to beat Russia on the battlefield.

On the other hand, Fedorov oversaw a brilliant campaign to bring the war back to Russia and hamper their supply chains way down the chain.

Zelensky’s in an exceptionally hard place. Whatever he decides, the civilian MOD and green-suiter commanders need to be hand-in-hand aligned on strategy.

Why would Ukraine want to replace Syrskyi? He isn’t that bad of a commander.

As long as he doesn’t have to face an election Zelensky will happily throw anyone else under the bus the bus.

    7. But everybody in the previous threads was saying it’s just Russian bots saying this was a bad move

    8. No doubt Syrskyi helped save Kyiv back In the early days of the invasion

But the war in 2026 is different and requires different ideas and leadership.

Zelensky should just clandestinely hire back the guy he fired to deceive the russians. Not sure that isnt his real plan now.
