      I have pretty well the same thing. You get it in Camp Stanley when you in-process.

      I have a piece.

      It’s pretty cool to have. While it’s obviously a relatively common thing given the length of the DMZ and the fact they give you a couple centimeters of a single wire, doesn’t make it any less cool that you’re holding a piece of one of the most vicious and culturally significant borders in the world.

      Edit: just a few patches including the arm patch, my duty cap that I wore, and awards from there.

      As you are seeing in the comments, it isn’t particularly unique. They are basically tourist souvenirs since the barbed wire needs to be replaced constantly. Your uncle probably has other Korean memorabilia, like coins from whatever unit he was stationed with or patches from Korean soldiers he worked with.

      I got mine too! Except the barbwire fell off and got lost in the move. Going back to SK in a year so planning on getting another
