Cause evaporating huge swaths of local Canadian water tables for billionaires all over the globe is ok, and with incentivizing, according to our Government.
Oh. And we will get to sell them the gas they will use in their power plants, so they can further pollute Canada.
Unfortunately, I have seen nothing in the current federal government’s behavior to reassure me that selling us down the river when it come to water is not a thing they would do.
To take a contrary position, I think we should actively sell fresh water to the US. There was this mega project proposed in the 60s called the [GRAND canal project](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Recycling_and_Northern_Development_Canal?wprov=sfla1) to dam off James Bay and run a canal from there to Lake Huron. This would allow for an equivalent amount of fresh water to Niagara Falls to be funneled down to the US.
You could also build it to allow for larger cargo ships and create a ton of economic development.
