If they don’t die from drones they’ll die from the cold. Jesus what a waste of lives.

Now that the prisons are empty, they are going for the university students. I bet those history majors will appreciate wielding museum pieces into combat.

Didn’t the cia director say on average new Russian recruits last only 20-30 mins now on the frontlines. It’s over man just go home

Good luck even heating homes in russia this winter, or being able to transport said 500,000 men to their deaths

„New front“, is this supposed to mean an attack on Ukraine from Belarus or on someone else?

    6. And how exactly is Russia going to get their newly mobilized cannon fodder to these new fronts?

I can see this backfiring to be honest. Extra numbers will probably help a little bit, but it’s really drone production and technological advancement which seems to be guiding the war at the moment.

I imagine the main result of this will simply be a spike in Russian casualties as drones find more soldiers to target, and a small increase in territory taken, but nothing substantial.

That coupled with the fact that mobilisation will be unpopular in Russia, alongside the current fuel shortages caused by the Ukrainian strike campaign and I can see Putin having problems at home with increasing pressure to win/end the war.

It’s not a popular war so not sure how he will get half a million willing troops, possibly not even troops but office workers, oil rig engineers, and farmers. It will be chaotic on every level.

    9. Fuel crisis + mass mobilization + logistical crash out

I’m sure this is going to go well.

Nice fertilizer for the Spring plantings. The sunflower seeds will be awesome next year.

    11. The men are dead.. is it time for equality in russia now or who are they gonna use now, kids?

    12. Whatever benefit invading Ukraine may have provided Russia blew up years ago. The war only exists now to prop up Putin.

    13. Idk how true this is. The article says Russia has avoided mobilization talk ahead of autumn elections because it is too politically costly, then claims a mass mobilization is planned for that same autumn?

At least they can’t freeze at home without oil and gas when they’re at the front.

And 500,000 more dead Russians whose only training is probably Call of Duty. You would think Russia would say “hold up let’s think about this”

    16. Relentless jokes from RuZZia, they can’t magic up the manpower for Ukraine, let alone for anywhere else, what a joke that pathetic country has become.

      Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦

Where are these 500K troops coming from? Hopefully Moscow and St. Pete. Hopefully not from other countries near Russia, w/ mercenaries lured in with „big“ pay (that they’ll never received b/c they die so fast). Ukraine‘ soldiers can only weather the meat grinder for so long. I really do worry about Russia exploiting the „lots of poor people across Asia we can get to die for us“ to grind down Ukraine…

If you’re a russian with even a semi functioning brain and you see this news on the horizon, what do you do?

Because top of my list is shoot the guys that come to conscript me.

    19. You’re going to fight a land war… with untrained foot infantry… in the winter…

Manpower is almost irrelevant at this point, they don’t have the means to effectively equip the soldiers they already have. Not to mention, ’soldiers‘ is a stretch with how little training they must be getting.

    21. It’s so mind boggingly stupid. All he has to do is leave Ukraine alone. Boom, peace.
