Katie Miller has no idea of what she’s talking about.
Canada is a sovereign country and will never be the 51st state and that’s final.
The Americans talking shit, having empty brains about geography, and threatening us over this is enraging.
However there is a degree of mismanagement here and things we could do better and Ford cutting wildfire fighting funds gives the Americans a hammer to hit us with. The fact that he cut wildfire funds while wasted money on other nonsense is absurd and he should be out of office for it (among many other things).

Maybe then all of the forest fires burning in Northern Ontario won’t be burning wild and out of control…

US politics is just troll based politics. Republican politics is just finding out what people are mad about and giving people a scapegoat to blame it on.
Our politicians and trade negotiators will deal with the threats that come with this and I trust they’ll navigate this as best as possible. But these comments aren’t worth engaging with at any level as a regular person. They’re meaningless. The people saying them don’t believe them and will literally not even think about this ths second the sky is blue again.
Ontario would not need American help if they were doing their job. Last time I checked firefighting was provincial responsibility and Ford is earning an epic fail.
Oh god, we’ve got Ford on one side and Trump on the other. What a clown show. Both grifters gorging on the gravy train, blaming others, while our precious Earth burns down and the air poisons us all.
Having no real wilderness left themselves, having contributed 90% of the NA pollution over time, as we have been putting up with their smoke from their fires for over 25 years, and just because, they can, well, fuck off.
