losing a tu-95 is permanent, they can’t build new ones anymore. each one that goes down permanently shrinks their long range strike capability.

is someone able to explain the significance of this aircraft? it seems dated and no larger than a tu-160, has a smaller payload. obviously any loss is a loss but…what makes this so significant ?

Why didn’t Russia move the plane to safety? Can’t they detect that drones are flying towards Engels quite a long time in advance? Also, why did Ukraine do this attack, i.e. how could they know that Russia would not move planes to safety? Must have tricked the Russians somehow.
