Since Polish authorities decided to arrest the guy over yelling at a group of Ukrainian teenagers while Ukraine Foreign Ministry turned it into an international issue don’t be surprised if things get even more heated. And as a nice little bonus KPP ends up at around 15% next year.

Its worth to point out that only 1 in 10 such crime is reported. I know many families who where attacked in some sort of way but do not report as most police force are far right members sympathizers.

Politicians who are fueling this though deserve to be tried for treason. In the current situation this is literally undermining heavily the future of the nation.

I really hate when they show relative difference but not absolute numbers.

3 becoming 4 is roughly 30% increase. So is 100k becoming 130k.

So 30% increase feel like crazy difference, but it says nothing about the actual situation.

Edit: I’m not accusing the article of being sensational, but showing absolute numbers would give a reader a sense of scale.

Some people also ungrateful, even before this in private Polish friends would tell me they are not happy with certain behaviours that they encounter often. That doesn’t justify going around to just attack people that didn’t do anything to you and it also doesn’t mean that every single person is the same.

Situations like the one where units are named after war criminals didn’t exactly help either.

 There are instances and I personally know some of them where Ukrainians do get preferential treatment, I know someone who got into a good uni even without the right qualifications.
Also I doubt that after the war people will go back to broken country to „build it back up“.

This is horrifying. From Ukraine and Poland being besties N1 in 22 to this in 26 is very wrong. I hope were are studies that will show why such deterioration of relationship happened.

For context, if the 30% growth stays the same, that number would give us 0.6 hate crimes per 100,000 citizens vs 2000+ crimes per 100,000 citizens overall (e.g. 984 property crimes per 100,000).

Zelensky good job. It obviously that in Poland politics have great time blaming Ukrainian peopel. With these decisions about Upa, Zelensky basically handed them Ukraine’s criticism on a silver platter.
