It made me think that if Ukraine apologized for Volhynia, it would shatter the entire right-wing, pro-Russian, anti-Ukrainian rhetoric.
But someone doesn’t want to do that… I wonder why.

> The new data, which were reported by the *Rzeczpospolita* daily, show that police received 180 reports of hate crimes against Ukrainians in the first half of 2026, which was around 30% higher than in the same period last year and around 35% more than in 2024.
I’m sorry, but this is just sensationalism. Obviously it’s wrong that this happens, but that’s literally nothing in such a large population

This is unfortunate and as a minority myself, I will always speak up in these circumstances. No matter the consequences to me. It’s usually a very effective distraction too, because these types REALLY hate lesbians. Lmao.
Edit – Ukranians can sit with me, always (majority of Poles feel the same). Gotta shame the radical few who dehumanize others.

Since Polish authorities decided to arrest the guy over yelling at a group of Ukrainian teenagers while Ukraine Foreign Ministry turned it into an international issue don’t be surprised if things get even more heated. And as a nice little bonus KPP ends up at around 15% next year.

Hatred towards Ukrainians is inherent to lowest circles of Polish society. There is no point in analyzing it too much. People who are physically attacking Ukrainians could easily assault fellow Poles (for any or no reason). They are nothing more than aggressive, stupid, flawed animals.
In my opinion there are three, maybe four things that need to be done.
1. Targeting pro-Russian narration in the web and social media.
2. Arresting most prominent members of Polish far-right who support Russia for treason/espionage.
3. Harsh punishment for people who assault anyone (not only Ukrainians) 15 years + for assault.
4. Immediate deportation of Ukrainians who commit misdemeanors and minor crimes in Poland (apply same approach to any non-EU foreigners).
‚Patologia społeczna‘ must be afraid. Of the law, of the Police.

Its worth to point out that only 1 in 10 such crime is reported. I know many families who where attacked in some sort of way but do not report as most police force are far right members sympathizers.

They really wants to turn my home country into another Belarus under the iron-fist dictatorship of Lukashenko with the backing of Vladimir Putin, whom the bearded fascist (Braun) keeps dickriding this corrupt KGB agent turned muderous war criminal.

I really hate when they show relative difference but not absolute numbers.
3 becoming 4 is roughly 30% increase. So is 100k becoming 130k.
So 30% increase feel like crazy difference, but it says nothing about the actual situation.
Edit: I’m not accusing the article of being sensational, but showing absolute numbers would give a reader a sense of scale.

Some people also ungrateful, even before this in private Polish friends would tell me they are not happy with certain behaviours that they encounter often. That doesn’t justify going around to just attack people that didn’t do anything to you and it also doesn’t mean that every single person is the same.
Situations like the one where units are named after war criminals didn’t exactly help either.
There are instances and I personally know some of them where Ukrainians do get preferential treatment, I know someone who got into a good uni even without the right qualifications.
Also I doubt that after the war people will go back to broken country to „build it back up“.

For context, if the 30% growth stays the same, that number would give us 0.6 hate crimes per 100,000 citizens vs 2000+ crimes per 100,000 citizens overall (e.g. 984 property crimes per 100,000).
